Wow. This is...this is lovely. I love it when I find truly great ambient stuff on here.

Halindir responds:

Thank you very much, my good Sir Poop, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

A limiter won't solve the problem. It will still sound awful, just more quietly. What really needs to happen is better leveling of each track. Don't just go in and turn up every track in the mixer up to +3db. That's retarded. Rule 1 of electronic music, never let your levels go over 0db. That's when things start to clip, and you get really distorted sounds. If it weren't for the clipping, this would actually sound kinda neat. If you're still working on it, go through and re think how you work with the volumes of each track in the mixer.

lantaren responds:

Actually, I didn't. most of my tracks are turned down about 20% from 100%, so you're telling me that I have them at +3db? hell no. it's just that the sounds freaking suck and that the mp3 compression was weak. I've already fixed the problem, and will re-upload the better one soonish.

God, your music is so very good. Seriously, it's like a super laid-back mixture of BoC and Aphex. Fantastic.

architecture responds:

Thanks for listening! Im just happy people take the time to listen :3

I definitely relaxed. Some nice crunchy chords. I think the subtle background noises could stand to be a bit louder, and the main melodic synth a bit lower.

JaY11 responds:

thanks for the feedback!

Wow

Not often that I get to see well-produced metal on newgrounds. The balance between your instruments is pretty good, and the tone of your guitars is very full, as opposed to the usual very thin guitar sound I see on here.

nihilisticeq responds:

Thanks bro. The song is actually somewhat old so there are definitely some minor gripes I have with the production. Mostly the drums being a bit too quiet as opposed to the guitar and bass. But that's sort of common in metal so it's no biggie imho. Other stuff as well, but nothing important enough to dig out an old project file and start mixing it again.

This is incredible

This truly is an amazing song. Very few songs make me feel this happy, and this one definitely did. Your use of time signature variation is great and doesn't detract from the groove of the song like it sometimes does in other music. Your melodies..man, I can't get enough of them, and the synths playing them are all so amazing. This is a total home run, and I have no idea how you could hate something that's THIS good.

midimachine responds:

i hated it cause i spent ages writin terrible lyrics for it and got sick of it but i don't hate it anymore lol

Why...

Why am I not following you already? Your music is so incredibly fresh. A great breath of fresh air for Newgrounds. I've got my eye on your music feed man.

midimachine responds:

way too kind :>

Awesome.

I heard some new sounds! Glad you chose to take some of my advice. I'm enjoying the slightly thicker pads now.

UntitledWhite responds:

Glad you enjoyed it! I was looking for an appropriate pad sound for the longest time but settled on one that complements the keyboard sound as well as accents the background. Stay tuned! I usually have genius outbursts of creativity every other month or so LOL

Wonderful.

Right from the beginning I knew this was special. Those clear watery rhodes sounding tones. And then you come in with these awesome simplistic yet kickin' IDM hip hoppy drums. Really nailed it dude. Only advice would be to extend it, and as you go on, keep thickening up the drums with new little noises here and there, as well as thickening your melodic atmosphere with some more pad layers. I really like the minimalistic sound of this though.

UntitledWhite responds:

I love you

Yeah, I'm impressed!

Well, your choice to record the song paid off. This tune just oozes awesome. Loving the guitar line and the effects on the vocals. I'm trying to think of constructive criticism to give, but I just can't think of any. This is really reminiscent of some of Yoko Kanno's music to me for some reason. Either way, it's fantastic. I'd love to hear more like this.

SensoryDecay responds:

Hey thanks! I'm gonna be uploading new stuff as I record it. I'm working really hard in pushing myself cause I haven't been playing as much as I like to lately. Glad you like it! I'll keep the groove goin' in this direction then.

My name is Jacob. I like anime/manga/comics. I'm 18. I make breakcore/IDM music (check it out). I play lots of rhythm games (DDR, ITG, PIU, BM, SM etc.) I play piano, and have been for about 4 years now.
